extrodinaire d'artiste

Extraordinary Artists
Some people just have a way of putting things together!
SIGH......
Feast your eyes on the work of Frédéric Tabary. Frédéric is an Interior Architect and Designer living in Nantes, France. I find his work absolutely amazing and I think you will too!
He salvages the old and gives it a unique new life.
Zinc, iron, rusted metal, urns and old windows never looked so good!
Sections of conservatories installed indoors, vanities
created from salvaged wood, kitchen sinks from
fountain bases, definitely the unusual.
Visit his blog Une Maison a Nantes

These are photos of his home.
Now we are talking French here!!

Click on the Diaporama's in the sidebar of his blog and
you can view some of the amazing spaces he has created.
Love these old doors in his kitchen and the zinc counter tops.
Next, you can visit Sweet Paul, the blog of Paul Lowe.
Paul is a Food and Interior Stylist living in New York,
originally from Norway.
His styling has that creative, European touch.
I love this photo with the beets he designed for Interior
magazine, but who would think of something like that?
Makes you appreciate the beauty of nature doesn't it?

Photos Frances Janisch
I've never been fond of doilies, but.......
I love that pillow and the curtains!
After seeing what Paul did with these, I'm having second thoughts.
This was from a project he did for Country Living.
Hope you pay them both a visit, you will enjoy your
time there.
Also, if you feel like a promenade, check out
Walk 2 Web. A delightful way to surf the web.
It is much easier to see images and I KNOW you
like pictures!!
Bisou!!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Even better would be a big antique clock from France, wouldn't it? I've seen this post before (maybe linked through you) with the radishes on the chair. It's such a beautiful composition. I didn't realize he did the lovely spread on doilies in Country Living. That spread inspired our use of them in my daughter's wedding. Fun stuff.

Your blog is always so dangerous for me. It makes me want to completely change my decor! I'm lovin' the doily pillow and curtains, too. Hmmm... Where could I incorporate that idea?

Hi, I'm just back in town from a visit to Paris, with husband and kids so it was Disneyland too hahaha! I always think your blog is a feast to the eyes and yes you are always touching the essence of France or french decorating (according to me). What makes the french so much more talented in decorating??Perhaps it already starts with the language, such beautiful tones, quite something different to hear comparing to my language. As a child I felt so sorry for myself that french wasn't my native tongue! And the french have another taste in food too, comparing their patisserie with the dutch one, (not to mention the american) is something we better don't do. It's so much more refined. I don't know what that is, that all things is France look beautiful, a door that has lost its painting there is sooo beautiful and here it seems to shout; 'I want a new layer of paint, you lazy proprietor'. But that is a climate issue too. Mmm it takes a while to tell you that I don't know either but I'm thinking about it!
Now I'm off to check those links, thanks!!

Another scrumptious post Shawn! I have fallen in love with the wonderfully long Dining table in the Tabary set. How I would love to 'borrow' it for our Christmas lunch this year! Things would certainly not be 'too squeezy' around this beautiful table.
